Joy to the World Vintage Cricut Christmas Card (#30)

I LOVE making vintage styled Christmas cards, they are my favorite.
First, I covered a white base card with paper from Recollections (see supply list below).

The Supplies Used
Then I cut a small portion from another paper in that pack. It's the red dotted paper on the bottom of the card. Then I cut a section of the light blue paper and placed it above it. Then I was ready to add the Anna Griffin christmas border on top of all those papers. Next, I added a sticker to the Deckled Edge die cut from Spellbinder. I stenciled in Peeled Paint Distress ink. Before attaching it I added foam sheets to raise it a little, off the card. I used foam sheets specifically for dimension.

Chipboard Bow
The last embellishment was the bow, which was a chipboard piece. There are a few steps to that one. First, I painted it with white Acrylic Paint. I do this because if I didn't it wouldn't matter what color I put on the bow it would be dark. If I want it red, like it is, then it has to be white first. Second, I embossed it in my Cuttlebug embossing folder, Bubbles.
Third, I covered it with Fired Brick Distress ink. Last, I immediately added clear embossing powder to it and heated it up. I do that because the white acrylic paint acts as a resist and the Fired Brick ink would fade away, completely. It would fade because Distress inks are water based and will resist when on Acrylic Paint.

SC355
Regarding CUT file: I placed a link at the top if you want to download the CUT file for this card. What I do, is I took a sketch (SC355) from www.splitcoaststampers.com and made a CUT file from it.

I used Fabulous Finds for the entire card except for 1 piece which is optional. There are 2 options, in my CUT file, for #3 which you can see on the sketch to the left. I added another page where I have a scalloped piece instead of the rectangle. You can see that in the card I made. I didn't use it in this card but I decided to use the scalloped rectangle since it looked so good in the card.  You would need Cricut's Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for that.
